Professor Miles Wernick’s Predictive Policing Model Highlighted by Several News Publications
Miles Wernick, Motorola Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering; Director of Medical Imaging Research Center (MIRC); and Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Armour College of Engineering, was featured in articles in The Economist and º£½ÇÂÒÂ× Defender for an algorithm he developed for the º£½ÇÂÒÂ× Police Department. The algorithm applies ten variables to gauge a person’s likelihood to be involved in violence in º£½ÇÂÒÂ×.
